Composite Plate Flooring

Composite Plate Flooring

Composite Plate Flooring (or plank flooring) is often a popular choice for commercial projects for large areas such as shopping centres, multi-story car parks and other large scale developments. Plank Flooring is a popular alternative to the Omni Deck composite solution often found in similar projects.

The finished product combines a thin precast concrete base with a structural topping cast on site. This results in an efficient span to depth ratios, particularly useful where height restrictions apply. Services can be easily accommodated within the depth of the finished slab and impressive fire resistance, thermal and acoustic performance is often obtained.

Spanwright UK provide two composite floor options -Ribbed Plate and Solid Plate – in a range of depths. Both options are 1.2m wide units resulting in a fast installation and an immediately solid working platform. These units are designed and CE certified to EN 13747 ensuring associated projects remain in line with Construction Products Regulations.

Structural topping thickness can vary depending on span and load requirements but must be a minimum of 50mm. After the precast units have been placed and reinforcement positioned, the topping is poured and the floor will behave as a composite section when fully cured. This continuous floor design can be used in masonry, steel and concrete framed structures.
