Hollowcore Floor Units

Hollowcore Floor Units were required for a housing project – Millmount Villas, in Northern Ireland.  The finished estate consists of a selection of single-story, two bedroom detached and semi-detached homes.

Bribar Construction Ltd, a recently established and fast moving construction firm working predominantly on residential housing projects in Northern Ireland, having a strong presence in the residential construction sector, identified Spanwright as the most suitable firm to supply concrete slabs to the project.

Product Solution

After receiving plans and analysing the client’s requirements, 150mm prestressed hollowcore floor units were found the most suitable solution for the ground floor. The impressive load bearing capacity of these floor units reduced the foundation and ground work requirements on site. Service openings, notches and solid ends were just some of the secondary processing functions asked of our production team.

Prior to supply and installation, our technical sales representative visited the site to measure the finished floor, assess site conditions, access and finalise a date for delivery. This information was then fed back to our despatch, detailing and production teams prior to manufacture and delivery to site.

Brian Black, Managing Director of Bribar Construction Ltd was impressed with the quality product and reliable service provided by Spanwright’s skilled team;

‘Our technical sales rep understood our requirements and was easy to contact, offering sound advice relating to the supply and installation of the ground floor. We required solid ends around the perimeter of the building and multiple notches and service openings and the floor slabs were delivered on cue, without hitch and installed with minimal disruption to other activities on site. We would have no hesitation in recommending Spanwright for any size of project, big or small.’
